Leadership Team
Graduate student in Environmental Science with a focus on climate policy. Alex leads our legislative advocacy efforts and coordinates with state representatives on environmental legislation.
Undergraduate in Public Policy and Biology. Sarah specializes in science communication and leads our education and outreach initiatives, making complex scientific concepts accessible to all.
Committee Chairs

Dedicated student at IU Bloomington, deeply committed to environmental advocacy and scientific integrity. Leads initiatives that defend evidence-based research and promote policy reforms against scientific censorship.

As a second-year Wells Scholar from Carmel, IN, Emma is majoring in Environmental and Sustainability Studies and Journalism at Indiana University. After restarting ASIU in January 2025, Emma has focused her primary efforts on maintaining public knowledge of science policy issues and growing a larger science-supporting community in Bloomington and beyond. Emma serves as a steering-committee member for ASIU's partner organization, CSIU, and publishes a bi-weekly newsletter containing scientific policy updates sent to 1000+ individuals.
Faculty Advisor
Professor of Environmental Policy and Director of the Science Policy Institute at IU. Dr. Foster brings over 15 years of experience in science policy research and has advised numerous student advocacy organizations. Her research focuses on the intersection of scientific evidence and democratic decision-making.
